Big news coming from Activision regarding this year's entry in the Call of Duty series: on May 28, Activision announced Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, releasing on October 23 of this year (trailer below).
Let's take a look at what to expect from the next Modern Warfare game.
Campaign
One of the most infamous parts of the last entry in the rebooted Modern Warfare series, Modern Warfare 3, was the very short, very under-delivering campaign. Activision seems to try to fix that with this next entry, promising this new campaign as a "return to form" with a darker story via the official Call of Duty X account.
The campaign will see you follow multiple perspectives of a squad of South Korean grunts face a war against their will amidst a full-scale invasion, featuring the return of series veteran character John Price.

Multiplayer
Activision seems to be planning a lot for their multiplayer in this entry as well, claiming that gameplay is "king" in this year's multiplayer. The development team at Infinity Ward claims to have developed the most fluid movement suite to date, with seemingly hundreds of new additions to gameplay & weapon mechanics.
Some of the key multiplayer features include a classic perk structure, apex attachments, & two prestige paths. A full list of key gameplay mechanics can be found in the full official Call of Duty blog post here.
