Xbox Showcase scheduled for Sunday, June 7th; Gears of War: E-Day Direct Immediately After

The already busy first week in the busiest announcement season in gaming just got even busier: Microsoft has just announced that an Xbox Showcase will be broadcasted on Sunday, June 7th, with a Gears of War: E-Day focused direct broadcasting immediately following the showcase.

What to Expect

As of right now, the only confirmed game to be shown at the showcase is Gears of War: E-Day with its own direct after the showcase, a prequel set 14 years before the original Gears of War following Marcus Fenix & Dom Santiago during the first emergence of the Locust Horde.  The game is still currently set to release in 2026 on Xbox Series, PC, & PS5.

Additionally, we're likely to get some more news on Fable, as it was recently posted on X by Geoff Keighley ahead of this busy week that the game, with an original release date of at some point in 2026, will now be releasing in February 2027.  However, there is a slight chance we get an earlier look at some new Fable content at Geoff Keighley's Summer Games Fest Opening Showcase on Friday, June 5.

As for third-party games, it's up in the air on what will be announced.  Especially considering that the PlayStation State of Play and the previously mentioned Summer Games Fest Opening Showcase air before the Xbox Showcase. 

That being said, expect to most likely see third-party games announced from these prior showcases to be confirmed to come to Xbox series.

The Xbox Showcase & Gears of War: E-Day Direct will be broadcasted live on the official Xbox Youtube, Twitch, Facebook Live & TikTok Live on Sunday, June 7th at 10 AM PST / 12 PM CST / 1 PM EST / 6 PM BST.
