This past week saw the long-awaited release of 007 First Light from IO Interactive, long time developers of the stealth-action Hitman series.

The game has, so far, received critical acclaim, with long time Hitman fans claiming that First Light has mastered many gameplay mechanics & expanding upon some, and long time James Bond fans being upset that the game isn't a movie, due to how good the plot is for an origin story of the world's most famous assassin.

It seems like the Bond franchise owners are starting to take notice as well, as Amazon MGM has stated that Amazon Games Studios, Amazon's own game publishing company, is set to publish any future sequels to First Light.

Now, what does this mean for any future sequels?  This means that Amazon Games Studios will fund development, which is a double-edged sword.  On one hand, this'll help IO be able to accomplish whatever they want/need to.

On the other, scarier hand, this could mean that Amazon Games & Amazon MGM will have more of a say in development, potentially resulting in forcing certain story & gameplay aspects, as well as forcing release dates & development practices such as AI implementation, a controversy currently sparking debate on another Amazon Games published title, Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis.

With Amazon MGM wanting to have more of a say in any future sequels to 007 First Light, will you play any future sequels?  And if you've played 007 First Light, what were your thoughts?  Let us know in the comments below!
